Save Your Tooth
Root canals that stop the pain and save the tooth.
Modern root canals feel much like getting a filling, and most are done in our office, often the same day you call.
What to know
Relief from a painful tooth.
When the nerve inside a tooth becomes infected or inflamed, a root canal removes the infection, cleans the inside of the tooth and seals it.
Most teeth need a crown afterward for strength, and we can often make it in our office the same day.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do root canals hurt?
The treatment relieves pain. With modern numbing, most patients say it feels like a filling.
What happens if I wait?
An infected tooth won’t heal on its own. Waiting can lead to more pain, swelling or losing the tooth.
Can you see me today?
We offer same-day emergency appointments every weekday. Call (503) 433-2414.
Does insurance cover root canals?
Most PPO plans cover a significant share of root canal treatment. We’ll confirm your benefits and give you an estimate before treatment.
Will I need a crown after a root canal?
Often, yes, especially on back teeth. A crown protects the treated tooth from cracking. Your dentist will let you know what your tooth needs.
Is a root canal better than pulling the tooth?
When a tooth can be saved, keeping it is usually the best long-term option. If it can’t, we’ll walk you through extraction and replacement options.
Cost & insurance
Insurance, cost and payment options
Most PPO plans cover a large part of root canal treatment because it saves a natural tooth. Many root canal-treated teeth also need a crown afterward, and we can often make that crown here in our office.
We’re in network with most PPO dental plans, including Delta Dental, MetLife, Guardian, Regence, Cigna, Aetna and United Concordia. We check your benefits before treatment and give you a clear estimate of your share, so there are no surprises. We do not accept OHP (Medicaid).
Prefer to spread out the cost? We offer monthly payments through Klarna. Ask our front desk for details. See insurance & financing.
