Website Privacy Policy

How Atlas Dental handles the information you share with us online. Effective October 7, 2026.

This policy explains what information Atlas Dental (“we,” “us”) collects through atlasdentalpdx.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website only. Your dental and health records are protected separately under HIPAA (see “Your health information” below).

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Your name, phone number, email (optional), whether you’re a new or current patient, the reason you’re reaching out, and your message. Please don’t include medical, insurance or payment details in the form. Call us instead and we’ll take care of it.
  • Online booking. When you book through our scheduler, your information goes directly to Flex, the scheduling service we use, and is handled under their privacy policy as well as ours.
  • Phone and email. When you call or email us, we use what you share to help you and schedule your care.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours collects some basic information when you visit, such as the pages you view, the website that referred you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your IP address. We use this to understand how the site is used and to make it better.

Some features on our site are provided by other companies and may set their own cookies or collect usage information:

  • Website hosting and visitor statistics by WordPress.com (Automattic) and Jetpack
  • Our map, from Google Maps
  • Our Google reviews display
  • Our video, from YouTube
  • Our online scheduler, from Flex

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features (like the map or video) may not load.

How we use your information

  • To answer your questions and call you back
  • To schedule appointments and send appointment reminders
  • To help you with insurance and payment questions
  • To improve our website and services
  • To send occasional emails or text messages about our practice, if you’ve agreed to receive them

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with other companies for their own marketing.

Emails and text messages

If you sign up to hear from us, we may send emails and text messages about appointments, office updates and offers. You can opt out at any time:

  • Email: click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any message.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing texts is never a condition of receiving care.

We never share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run our practice and website (such as our website host, scheduling, email and phone providers), and only as needed for them to do that work. We may also share information when required by law or to protect the safety of our patients and team.

Your health information

Information in your dental and medical records is protected health information under the federal HIPAA law. How we use and protect it is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you can request from our front desk at any time, in person or by calling (503) 433-2414.

Our website contact form is meant for general questions and appointment requests, not for sharing health details. If you have a question about your care, please call us.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them online. Parents and guardians are welcome to contact us on a child’s behalf.

How we protect and keep information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information you share with us, and our website uses a secure (https) connection. We keep contact-form messages only as long as we need them to respond and run our practice. No website or online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.

Your choices

You can ask us to review, correct or delete the information you’ve submitted through our website, or to stop contacting you. Just reach out using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
